MD Radio Diagnostic

MD Radio Diagnostic is a three-year course. The Radio Diagnosis course deals with allergic contrast reactions & being aware of resuscitation methods. This post-graduate degree focuses on the study of radiation, magnetic resonance, ultrasound, and clinical applications. Radio diagnosis is a medical specialty that employs the use of imaging to both diagnose and treat diseases visualized within the human body.

The job roles that candidates can acquire while doing the course are Pediatrics, Radiologist, Medical Consultant, etc. Radiologists use an array of imaging technologies (such as X-ray radiography, ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), nuclear medicine, positron emission tomography (PET), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)) to diagnose or treat diseases.

Eligibility Criteria for MD Radio Diagnostic

1. MBBS Degree and its recognition of equivalence from the Medical Council of India (MCI)

2. NOC for Foreign Candidates from their respective Missions/Embassies and other relevant organizations and from WHO.

3. They must submit their one­ year Internship certificate. One year must be passed after their internship.

4. Training Certificates (if any) obtained from foreign institutions shall have to be acceptable to the University.

5. Age should not be over 45 years at the time of enrolment having to satisfy an interview board approved by the University.

Admission Process

1. Colleges publish notice of admission on their website from a period of June when most Indian universities would have finished degree exams.

2. Candidate to apply for each college, as each college considers each mark as the cut-off mark.

3. Some private colleges and deemed universities perform their counselling process by conducting their university-level entrance exams.

4. Some colleges require a minimum of 50% aggregate in the qualifying examination.

5. Candidates who qualify for the test are called for an interview before the final seat allotment.

Career after MD Radio Diagnostic

After specializing in Radio-diagnosis, one can join any Radiological Sciences Laboratory or get employed in a hospital, or academic/educational institutions or they can do private practices of medical imaging for the genitourinary, biliary, gastrointestinal, central nervous system, and other organs like brain, head, and neck, through the use of x-ray, MRI, CT, and angiography.

After completing MD Radiodiagnosis course, students can find highly respected and lucrative job opportunities in private as well as public sectors in Hospitals, Scientific Studies, Private Clinics, Research Centers, etc. One can develop their career as a Radiographer, Radiologist, Health Diagnostics Technologist, Radiology Technician, etc., and can earn anywhere between INR 12 - 17 LPA which increases with experience and expertise.
